Wine Is Coming: Game Of Thrones Wine Series Launching Next Year

For winos obsessed with HBO’s Game of Thrones, good news is heading your way. Winter is coming… and so is wine. With the start of season five you will be able to watch the scandal and adventure unfold while sipping on a glass of The Lannister pinot noir or The Greyjoy sauvignon blanc. A group of wine loving GoT fans have created a series of wines called “The Wines of Westeros”, inspired by the hit show and featuring red and white wines for 12 houses – Stark, Lannister, Greyjoy, Arryn, Baratheon, Dothraki, Tyrell, White Walker, Wilding, Martell, Night’s Watch and Targaryen.

The wines include Cabernet Sauvignons, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlots and Sauvignon Blanc. Additionally, each bottle’s flavors and tasting notes reflect its respective title and characteristics. In other words, a lot of effort has gone into producing a very elaborate fan project. But hey, who’s complaining? Wine is an essential free flowing beverage in the show’s mystical regions, so why not indulge while on the edge of your seat?

Bottles will be $20 AUS ($19 USD) and are expected to launch next year in sync with the fifth season of Game of Thrones. Where does your loyalty lie? Will you be partaking?
